Is there a book you really loved that was subsequently turned into a movie? Did it live up to your expectations? Why or why not?
The Count of Monte Cristo was a fantastic book. I read it in my English class in tenth grade, and I loved it. Between reading the book and taking the test on the book, the movie came out, and I went to see it. What a horrible idea. The movie took some severe liberties, and it did not nearly live up to the book. Not only that, but the movie changed the story enough that I was very confused by the time I got to the test.
The movie would have been great had I not read the book - but I had read the book, and vastly enjoyed it, so I just really did not like the movie.
